These sessions will focus on how CalArts CAP instructors can best integrate their curriculum to the core subject content being taught those semesters. CalArts CAP instructors will also work with partnering school faculty to build ways they can continue art instruction outside of the art classroom.
Parent Classroom Visits
On the eighth and final week of each grade level’s arts classes, parents will be invited into the classroom to observe classroom instruction and participate in the art activities.
CalArts CAP Instructors will hold evening workshops each semester for parents to learn and participate in exercises in the art forms taught at the partnering school. Each parent will create a piece of art or performance with their child, and receive strategies for encouraging and helping their student with their art classes at home.
